One weekend in August I felt the need for some mummy time to catch up on household chores and recharge my batteries. The girls were meant to go away with my parents to their cabin in the mountains. However, as we approached the weekend my youngest announced that she was going on her own, just her with Mormor and Morfar. We decided to honour her wishes and instead of my mummy time, I had some quality 1:1 with my eldest.
We enjoyed some quality time shopping, chatting and she got to see mummy at work in the studio. I also thought this was a great opportunity to take photos to mark the return to school. She loves to read and I have had the image in my mind of her together with a pile of her favourite books. I always thought she looked adorable in a uniform so when she told me she misses a uniform at times I could not resist but to buy this skirt from Zara to match her favourite Blazer from Abercrombie and Fitch and her Dr Martins Boots.
She loved “assisting” me at the studio, when it was her time however she was not that keen until I said ok, no photos lets go home. I guess at times reverse psychology works really well and she was keen to pose and kept trying new things. Below are some of the images we captured that day.
