Small is a descriptive and measure word that often refer to something insignificant and less than normal. Often a small gesture becomes the significant in our life, and the small turns into something big.
My soon to be 10 year old is going through the pre-teen years where the children are trying to figure out who they are. Their teacher is doing a project where they have pupil of the day. They child who is the pupil of the day will receive a note from her fellow peers with one or more word saying something nice which they will then take home at the end of the day. This week my daughter came home with an envelope filled with small notes from her fellow classmates. These are the small gestures, that has a huge impact, reading the kind words written about you can only lift your spirit, your self esteem and your self worth. However small these notes or words are, these will be stored in a memory box because whenever she needs a reminder of what a beautiful person she is I will ask her to read them. She will be left with words like “kind, sweet, clever, good friend, good gymnast, fun to be with.”
As a mum it made me so proud reading the kind words written about her and how lucky am I to be able to call her my daughter.
