I have to tell you about baby Lily… she came to see me in November at 6 weeks old. It is recommended that newborns are photographed in the first 4-10 days due to this being the time they are really sleepy and flexible. However, sometime parents are not aware of newborn photography and therefore leave it too late to book. This was the case with Baby Lily and by the time I was able to fit her in she was 6 weeks old.

When baby Lily arrived, the first thing I noticed was her beautiful features, her long dark lashes, her beautiful lips and just the perfect smooth baby skin. Baby Lily was an active little girl and I spent the best part of two hours to settle her. Every time I put her down she wanted back up again so I got lots and lots of cuddles. Whilst I concentrated on getting baby Lily to sleep her grandma spent nearly 2 hours entertaining my daughter as she was dressing her baby and trying to pose her baby on the newborn posing bag.
In the end we manged to get Lily to sleep and I did my best to try and photograph her. Lily did not get into deep sleep so we did not manage to get a lot of different poses but we did manage to use a few different props to give the images some variety. I tried to get Lily to sleep on a front tummy pose and just as I did she woke up. She woke up as the happiest little girl and better then any head in hand pose she pushed up, lifted her head high and just stared right at the camera. Clearly she had just had enough sleep to show us how happy she was, I was lucky enough to have the camera in my hand and quickly snapped a few images of this happy clever girl. Her dark dark blue eyes, just shows her young age as her eyes are still that perfectly beautiful dark blue newborn colour. The images created such a contrast from the sleeping baby images showing her stunning lips and lashes to the very clever 6 week old baby girl who had an amazing neck control.
