Little Souls There is no greater pleasure then watching our wandering little souls explore the world and find their own place of happiness. Take a look

It’s birthday time | Stavanger Photographer

~¨~
April = Birthday
~¨~
It certainly is… it is the month where I get another year older. The older I get the harder it is to remember exactly how old i am. Not sure if this is part of not wanting to get older, the memory getting worse or just a matter of life flying by too fast. To be honest I don’t feel as old as I am on paper, I don’t think of myself as a 30+ and certainly not someone who is heading closer to 40.
I love when it is birthdays, I love to treat people and I love to bake, make cakes and get together with friends and family. Yet this year, Easter had just came and went and we had just managed to get moved into our house. I had no ingredients available and to be honest no time, so there was no birthday cake for me this year. In fact it was a very quiet day which was pretty much like any other day. I did however have my family with me and my daughter let me do what I love most and that is snap a few images of her while she did one of the things that she loves to do…. jumping in my bed like bad.

Week 15 – Stole my heart | Stavanger Photographer

~¨~
There once was a girl who stole my heart
She calls me Daddy
~¨~
Daddy is always the one who play the rough games with the girls. Throwing them up in the air, tickling… just to mention a few. So could not resist snapping an image of Daddy playing with one of his little angels.
The image also give you a little taster of our living room and the look we chose to go with. We went out looking for a sofa and had decided to buy a leather sofa but we fell madly in love with this retro sofa group. We choose to mix retro with modern so choose a modern tv unit and coffee table to match. The decoration in the living room is not quite to our taste and we do plan to put down new flooring and change the colour to the wall sometime in the future but for now we are just keeping it as it is.

One week old baby Skye | Stavanger Nyfødt Fotograf

Baby Skye came to seen me at only one week old. Her mummy had been working at my daughters gymnastics club until just weeks before giving birth so it was really nice to be able to see this little girl that had been growing in such a tiny neat bump.

Her big sister Morgan came along to the session but she rather wanted to play then be part of the images but we did manage to capture a couple of images of the two girls together. At such a young age you could clearly see the resemblance of these girls, baby skye is the double of her big sister Morgan.

Morgan did sleep well and we had a small list of poses and props to try and get through. Her mum had seen the photos in sling and that was on her wish list and with help from mum and dad we managed to safely take a couple of images of Skye in the sling.

And last but not least…. there is nothing more perfect then when you manage to capture baby smiles… so don’t forget to look close and I hope it warms your heart equally as much as it does mine… watching those perfect captures of a baby smiling in their sleep. To Skye, thank you for being such a star during your session 🙂

6 weeks old baby Lily | Stavanger nyfødt fotograf

I have to tell you about baby Lily… she came to see me in November at 6 weeks old. It is recommended that newborns are photographed in the first 4-10 days due to this being the time they are really sleepy and flexible. However, sometime parents are not aware of newborn photography and therefore leave it too late to book. This was the case with Baby Lily and by the time I was able to fit her in she was 6 weeks old.

When baby Lily arrived, the first thing I noticed was her beautiful features, her long dark lashes, her beautiful lips and just the perfect smooth baby skin. Baby Lily was an active little girl and I spent the best part of two hours to settle her. Every time I put her down she wanted back up again so I got lots and lots of cuddles. Whilst I concentrated on getting baby Lily to sleep her grandma spent nearly 2 hours entertaining my daughter as she was dressing her baby and trying to pose her baby on the newborn posing bag.
In the end we manged to get Lily to sleep and I did my best to try and photograph her. Lily did not get into deep sleep so we did not manage to get a lot of different poses but we did manage to use a few different props to give the images some variety. I tried to get Lily to sleep on a front tummy pose and just as I did she woke up. She woke up as the happiest little girl and better then any head in hand pose she pushed up, lifted her head high and just stared right at the camera. Clearly she had just had enough sleep to show us how happy she was, I was lucky enough to have the camera in my hand and quickly snapped a few images of this happy clever girl. Her dark dark blue eyes, just shows her young age as her eyes are still that perfectly beautiful dark blue newborn colour. The images created such a contrast from the sleeping baby images showing her stunning lips and lashes to the very clever 6 week old baby girl who had an amazing neck control.

Week 14 – Gorgeous Girls Bedroom | Stavanger Fotograf

When we were buying a house I was a busy girl on pinterest pinning ideas for how to decorate the girls bedrooms. Then when we ended up purchasing the house we now have, it was looking for additional ideas and pull together a room that was fit for a girl.

I found that designing a room for an eight year old was a little challenging. She is at a stage that she still like pink and princesses, yet we know that this stage will pass and she will grow up. So we were looking at creating a room that she can grow with and a room that was a “grown up” girls room yet not the room of a teenager.

When we purchased the house I made the bold decision and said “lets go white”. I thought it would be safer to go white and add accessories and colours appropriate to her age. So out we went and purchased white paint with the colour “Chi” and ordered white laminate flooring. We let our daughter pick the wallpaper, she picked a green floral wallpaper with some sparkle and shine by Eijffinger

We have furnished with her white Hemnes daybed from Ikea, a little white desk and bright pink office chair also by Ikea.

When our daughter was born I painted a toy chest which fitted in nicely both as a seat and for toy storage. Over the past 8 years it has become a bit tatty and worn. We have a lovely Eames inspired rocking chair in pale blue which she quite enjoy relaxing in. The room already had built in cupboards which is great for toy storage and to add all her papers and colouring in books. Then we let the kids pick their own rugs at Ikea which we have just spread out on the floor.

I had some buntings made by Fimbly which I am yet to add to the room, the other things still left to do is get some blinds fitted, buy some skirting, hang up a couple of photos and add a lamp in the roof.

Why not finish with what the room looked like before we started
