Little Souls There is no greater pleasure then watching our wandering little souls explore the world and find their own place of happiness. Take a look

2-52 Storytelling | By Evy Photography | Stavanger Fotograf

Every minute of every day we are creating our own story, the story of our life. Every picture we capture tells a story. Unfortunately I have been one of those who capture a lot of stories and then they get stored on my computer. A year ago I decided I had to do something about it. I had to make sure that our girls could look at the photos and we could talk about the story behind them. We now have a shelf full of photo books or rather a shelf full telling the story of our life and our family.
Furthermore in this image my girls are wrapped in a patchwork blanket that I made out of their clothes and every square contains a story and a memory.

New York | By Evy Photography

New York has always been on the bucket list of a place I wish to experience. We had offered our daughter to attend a gymnastics camp in US and we found one near New York that had a good write up and thought we would try it. She was so excited about it, that was until it became more real and we started our travels to the US and once there she let the nerves get the better of her and cut her camp experience short.
I have taken my time to process my experience of New York. It was not as impressive as I had been expecting, nor as busy as I had imagined. It was crowded and it was difficult to get the impressive photos that you see in magazines, I imagine they must be taken first time in the morning before the hustle and bustle start.
We did the usual tourist attractions of Liberty, Central Park, Rockefeller, Empire State, Brooklyn Bridge and Time Square. In addition to the Manhattan sites we did travel to Brooklyn Zoo and spent a day at Coney Island and Brighton Beach.
During our week in New York we stayed at The Court, St Giles Premier which is on the corner of Lexington and 39th Street. My daughter have Coeliac and right across the road was a Gluten Free Bakery followed by a diner with a large gluten free menu. It was fairly easy to find gluten free food in New York, however the location of the hotel was ideal for getting around and also for quick access to delicious glutenfree food.
We had been told that it would be extremely hot in New York during July, and although it was hot I never thought it was too hot. We had sunshine every day with the exception of one day when heaven did open after lunch in Bryant Park. Within minutes the park went from full to empty and people were running and finding a dry hiding space. We always made sure we took time and just in general experienced New York for what it is.

1/52 Fresh mornings | Stavanger Fotographer

Kristin Armstrong

I want to be more creative with my photography and this year is one of those years where I plan to experiment and I might have bitten more then I can chew. I have joined a photography group called Shoot 2015 which will give me monthly assignments and I have decided to make another go of a 52 week project. There is two projects, one run by My Four Hens which gives a weekly word and then there is one called living arrows which focus on photographing personal photos with no given theme. So I will try to see how the year develop and where I end up. I hope I manage to complete it this year.

The word given for week one was Fresh. My daughter woke fresh Sunday morning and decided that she was starting the day as Supergirl. With a tired face and bushy hair she walked down and announce that she was Supergirl. I love how our children have the ability to wake up every morning and wake up fresh.

Newborn Baby Girl A | By Evy Photography | Nyfødt fotograf

Simply perfection. I don’t know how many times I say it, I guess maybe every time I meet these new arrivals. But every time I am amazed at how perfect they all are.
This little baby girl had a head full of hair. She did not want to sleep at first but she gave in to me in the end and was a little superstar.

8/12 My Love, My Life – Back to School | By Evy Photograpy | Stavanger

One weekend in August I felt the need for some mummy time to catch up on household chores and recharge my batteries. The girls were meant to go away with my parents to their cabin in the mountains. However, as we approached the weekend my youngest announced that she was going on her own, just her with Mormor and Morfar. We decided to honour her wishes and instead of my mummy time, I had some quality 1:1 with my eldest.
We enjoyed some quality time shopping, chatting and she got to see mummy at work in the studio. I also thought this was a great opportunity to take photos to mark the return to school. She loves to read and I have had the image in my mind of her together with a pile of her favourite books. I always thought she looked adorable in a uniform so when she told me she misses a uniform at times I could not resist but to buy this skirt from Zara to match her favourite Blazer from Abercrombie and Fitch and her Dr Martins Boots.
She loved “assisting” me at the studio, when it was her time however she was not that keen until I said ok, no photos lets go home. I guess at times reverse psychology works really well and she was keen to pose and kept trying new things.  Below are some of the images we captured that day.
