Focus 52 that is the name of the game and that is the challenge for 2011. Basically I am taking part in an exciting Flickr group called Focus 52 which is as it say in its logo a creative project where you have to take a photo every week for the next 52 weeks.
The project will give me a focus and there are lot of members of the project group that I hope will remain strong and continue with the project. In August/September 2009 I started a 365 Project, which was a personal driven project where I had to take one photo every day. I found the project challenging and it became more a chore than a joy. I also ended up just taking a photo that day to have done it. I ended the 365 in April 2010, so did not complete it. So I am determined to complete Focus 52 and think it will be an exciting year ahead.
So now that the background is covered, over to Week 1. I have to say it is not the best photo but I had this idea in mind and left it until last minute. Week 1, is called resolution. I am not sure why, but I always feel a bit refreshed and eager to change/improve when a new year comes along. So as so many others we set resolutions.
This years resolution was to
“Stop and smell the roses”
In other words take time to appreciate life, kids, husband, friends and photography. Last but not least finally get some of my own images printed, framed and displayed.
Our girls are growing up too fast, we are busy with work and keeping house and home. I want to enjoy my daughters a little more and take more time to spend with my family. I also want to keep enjoying taking photos but it should be embedded into enjoying family and friends rather than struggle to fit it both in.
So when I composed my image, I choose white to represent the fresh start and roses for the phrase stop and smell the roses, the ribbon is bright and shouting out what I need to stop and pay attention to.
So take time out to do what you enjoy.
Loved the photo on flickr, and love your words here.
And that’s a great resolution. One we should all take to heart!
Feel free to come and link up this post on the blog!

nydelig bilde, snuppa!
