Nearly two months in and I am still using the move to Norway as an excuse….. but yes we are still sharing a home with my parents, our belongings are still in a container so it is difficult to return to a “normal” life. With the lack of space I am really finding it hard to get motivated to think of new shoots and sessions.

Once I get settled I will continue with my storybook project but a fellow photographer in the US, the same girl who happened to be our choosen photographer for family photos…. yes the amazing Tamara Knight also wanted to capture some storybook images of her own and have done some amazing sessions She did a Alice in Wonderland that was just fantastic. We got chatting and she said “ohhh… you have the snow which is fantastic for images” and I was responding “ehhhh in below 0 degrees celsius it will be impossible to get the kids to agree”..

A few days later, another amazing US photographer Heidi Hope shared an amazing session called Alice in Winter Wonderland It made me realise that I do have to try and capture some images in the snow. I had no fancy dress or outfit so I choose a pretty skirt from my daughters wardrobe and her favourite cardigan (both from Next) and packed it in our bag for our weekend away to my parents cabin. Last time there I noticed a gorgeous old sledge they had and thought that would be great for my daughter to sit on and to make sure she was kept warm I decided to use the fur available.

I had a few layers of clothes on my daughter, yet we did decide to keep the outdoor time without the outdoor suit to a minimal, however saying that she was just getting in the mood to pose when daddy said “that’s enough, time to get some nice warm clothes on her”. Initially I was going for the snow princess feel, but the end result is truly showing off my daughters Scandinavian roots. I hope you all enjoy the end result
