Over the summer I had the pleasure of photographing three weddings together with one of my best friends and fellow photographer Nicola Allan of Nicasa Photography. In life you sometime meet people that you feel you have known a lifetime even though it is just a matter of months. Nicola is that special someone. We met four years ago at an evening class at Aberdeen college and since our first night we have been friends, she just gets me in the way only your best friends does.
I am a believer that friendship is not based on how long you have known someone but the chemistry that is present in a friendship. Having moved abroad on my own, having to say goodbye to my childhood friendships, I realised how quick you got forgotten. This is when you learn tha value of true friendships, where goodbye’s only means see you later. Friendship is not something you have a given right to, it is not something that stay and remain. Some of my best friends are the ones I met as an adult and for some reason they are the individuals that have ventured away from the safe surroundings of their childhood friends.
Marriage is like a deep friendship where you share your heart and soul, you marry your best friend, your lover and the person who make you complete. It is always an honour to be present to capture this big day and even more fun doing it with your best friend.
This is the wedding of Sarah and Paul at Pittodrie Hotel in Aberdeen. It was a gorgeous location for a wedding with views right up to Bennachie. The bride looked stunning and was wearing a lovely lace dress. For her blue her friend had written I Do in diamantes under her shoe, her old was her mums wedding ring sown onto her garter.
