The rambles of a of a self confessed pramaholic

Before my interest turned to photography, I was a self confessed pramaholic. With my first daughter I tried more than 10 different prams which included Emmaljunga, Bertini, Gesslein, Quinny, Mamas and Papas, BabyTravel. It was not that I never found one I liked, it was more wanting to try the different prams on the market.

When I was expecting my second daughter I spent hours upon hours trying to choose the pram I wanted and I just could not make up my mind. In the end I got a good deal on a bugaboo and decided it was too good a deal to let it go.
When I first saw the Bugaboo Cameleon I thought it was an awful looking pushchair but it started to grow on me slowly but surely. I really liked it as a pram as it has one of the largest basinets on the market and it is lightweight. I always had reservations on the shape and size of the seat unit but regardless I made up my mind.
Our baby arrived and she looked very snug in the bugaboo and it was a dream to push. Winter came and she was kept warm inside the basinet, however it was not that easy to push in snow and winter conditions especially if you don’t invest in the additional cost of snow wheels.

We also had the travelbag as I loved the idea of protecting the pram travelling to and from Norway but in all honesty I found it complex to use and it had to be taken apart to fit in and it was a very snug fit. It was not something that was easy to pack and unpack at the airport. Therefore I had to make the decision whether or not to use the pram on the airport. With two children it did not take more than one or two trips before I realised that the best way to travel was to take the pram to the gate and therefore unable to use the travelbag to protect the chassis.

Once we moved from basinet to seat unit my daughter never seemed happy in the pram. She always wanted out to be carried and so on. Whilst visiting Norway in August and October I let my daughter sit in the traditional Teutonia and Emmaljunga prams and she refused to come out. I then realised that she just did not like the modern seat unit. It also made me realise how small the Bugaboo seat unit actually was. It does not offer a lot of space for an older child.

The reservations I had about the Bugaboo had come true, it is a fantastic pram but in my experience it is not a great pushchair. So in October I ordered an Emmaljunga Scooter pram and put my Bugaboo up for sale. The Emmaljunga Scooter has been very well received by my daughter and she often likes to just sit and relax in it. If out and about my daughter is able to get comfortable and will have a good nap. For us it was the right decision and I am delighted to have returned back to Emmaljunga and as you can see so is my little girl.
So here is my daughter chilling in her new pram watching TV. She is dressed in Katvig and the duvet cover is by Katvig too.
