I always wondered how the cats would cope with the move but they have exceeded our expectations. The cats traveled with a flight earlier then ours and had already been picked up and started to settle at my parents house. After about a week we were able to let them out to explore the outside and they quickly settled into their usual routine of out through the day and in at night.
This story however is about my cat Mara, she is what you would call a lapcat. When the evening falls and kids are in bed all she want is a lap to lie on. Here in Norway however, she has found her spot and it is my mum’s lap in her tv chair. If my mum is doing laundry or sitting on the computer she will walk around and find her. She will meow and talk to her and she will keep talking as if she is telling her something.
On a few occasions we have tested it, my mum get up and away from what she is doing and the cat runs into the living room. She will meow and talk and walk to sit next to her seat. She meows and wait for my mum to sit down and as soon as her legs goes up on that leg rest she will jump up.
At first we thought it was a coincident but it is happening every night so clearly she has found her spot. As I am typing this, I am sitting in my mum’s chair as she is out tonight and on my side, resting over the arm rest is Mara sleeping soundly.
